Meet the Teacher

We are excited to welcome you to Asheville Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year at our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 20th, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.

As we celebrate ten years in our school building, construction has officially begun on our new track. When our current building was built a decade ago, the original track was the only part of campus left untouched, and we are deeply grateful that this final piece of our original construction vision is coming to life. While construction crews have assured us the field will remain open for our fall sports programs, this work impacts our event logistics. Historically, we relied on the old track area for overflow parking during major events. Because we can no longer drive or park on that space, our parking capacity is significantly reduced.

To accommodate this change and ensure a smooth experience for everyone, we are moving to a staggered arrival schedule based on the first letter of your child's last name:

• A – E: 3:00 – 4:00 PM
• F – L: 4:00 – 5:00 PM
• M – R: 5:00 – 6:00 PM
• S – Z: 6:00 – 7:00 PM

Parking & Logistics Details:

• Parking will be available in the main parking lot and along the inside car rider lane.

• We strongly encourage families to carpool whenever possible to help save space.

• We ask that everyone make their best effort to attend during their designated time slot to keep attendance evenly distributed throughout the evening. However, if scheduling conflicts make your assigned window logistically impossible, please come when you are able. We want to ensure every family has the chance to participate.

As this is our first year navigating this new setup, we have done our best to anticipate challenges, but we know even the best-laid plans can have gaps. We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we adapt.

What to Expect at the Event: You’ll begin in the gym to pick up your child’s schedule and connect with school and community resources, including:

• Asking questions about student schedules

• Meeting our school counselors and health staff

• Exploring afterschool programming options

• Learning about mentoring and enrichment opportunities

• Updating your information in Infinite Campus

• Connecting with community organizations that support our students and families

After visiting the gym, you can tour the building and meet your child’s teachers. This is a great opportunity for students to find their classrooms, get familiar with the layout, and build connections before the first day of school.
